WR Rod Smith favors his left hip when he runs.

Backup RBs Mike Bell and Andre Hall looked good in goal line drills.

Backup QB Patrick Ramsey made a nice pass off a play fake during goal-line work.

OT Matt Lepsis needed an MRI on his knee after a collision with C Tom Nalen.

OLB Warrick Holdman was back to practice just days after being hospitalized with a spinal cord injury. "I'm in a battle for a starting position," Holdman said. "I don't have no time for letting up."

Broncos fans assembled at training camp practices can agree on this: The Orange Crush defense should be represented in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Rookie DT Marcus Thomas, who weighs more than 300 pounds, can do a back flip.

Rookie DE Tim Crowder has the typical rookie chore of carrying his teammates' shoulder pads.

OLB Warrick Holdman suffered a spinal cord concussion, but coach Mike Shanahan says the injury is not serious.

WR Domenik Hixon returned to practice a day after suffering a minor shoulder separation, saying, "You got to forget about the pain and go make the team."

WR Brandon Marshall is getting impatient having to sit out with a quadriceps injury.

DT Sam Adams sat out Thursday with a minor knee injury.

CB Dre' Bly got beaten for big receptions by backup receivers David Kircus and Brian Clark. One fan yelled, "Go back to Detroit!"

RB Travis Henry had to run laps after practice as punishment for jumping offside.

RB Andre Hall is the fastest back on the Broncos' roster.

MLB D.J. Williams has been watching tape of Zach Thomas, who played middle linebacker under new Broncos assistant head coach Jim Bates.

WR Rod Smith is on the Physically Unable to Perform list, and there's talk that he could retire.

WR Javon Walker is completely healthy for the first time as a Bronco.

Assistant coach Scott O'Brien has revamped the special teams playbook.

The Broncos have a quarterback in camp who stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 248 pounds.

CB Dre' Bly has intercepted at least one pass during team drills for three straight days.

LB Ian Gold sat out Tuesday with back spasms.

Nate Webster, D.D. Lewis and Warrick Holdman have all taken snaps at strongside linebacker with the first-team defense.

LB D.J. Williams says he likes the added responsibility of moving from the outside to the middle.

New TE Daniel Graham is assuming a leadership role in the locker room.

CB Champ Bailey thinks he'll get more opportunities to make plays with Dre' Bly on the other side of the field from him.

WR Brandon Stokley caught everything within reach at the first training camp workout.

DE Carlos Hall was a no-show and was placed on the reserve/did not report list.

DE Kenny Peterson was cut on Saturday but re-signed on Sunday to replace Hall.  

DE John Engleberger is getting a lot of reps on the first-team defense.

P Todd Sauerbrun got some of the loudest cheers from the fans for his booming punts, including one that hung in the air for more than five seconds.
