On Wednesday, TE Jeremy Shockey spoke to the media without offending anyone.

The Soup Nazi was being a little coy in responding to questions about Simeon Rice.

POSTED 11:17 p.m. EDT, July 31, 2007

LS Ryan Kuehl was carted off during the second Monday practice with a lower leg injury.

Team president John Mara wants DE Michael Strahan to play.

LB Mathias Kiwanuka was burned in pass coverage . . . by a lineman.

S Will Demps has been moved to the second-team defense.

DT William Joseph has been playing left defensive end in Michael Strahan's absence.

POSTED 4:19 p.m. EDT, July 28, 2007

WR Amani Toomer was running well on Friday after missing a lot of last season due to a knee injury.

LB Antonio Pierce breeds pit bulls, but not for fighting them.  (Mike Vick's dog-breeding web site once said the same thing.)

Says Pierce on the suspicion of dog fighting that ownership of pit bulls sparks:  "What about the lady who's got 10 Chihuahuas?  They bite you all the time."

Does Pierce think Mike Vick will ever play again?  "I'm not involved in the law," Pierce said. "But the way [NFL commissioner Roger Goodell] has been handling things, I think that answers your question."

If the Giants were truly bracing for a holdout from DE Michael Strahan, it's amazing at how thoroughly the New York media was pooh-poohing the possibility.

Two weeks ago, Strahan was gushing about looking forward to getting back on the field.

The Giants supposedly won't wait very long for Strahan to show up.

An unnamed source tells that Newark Star-Ledger that Strahan "absolutely" wants to play this year.

The Giants cut RB Cedric Humes and signed DB Richard Yancy.

Quarterbacks coach Chris Palmer says that Eli Manning will lead his team "to the promised land."  (That's good, because they're ain't no way that Eli is ever gonna take a team to a Super Bowl victory.)
