The fans love Randy Moss, for now.

Says coach Bill Belichick about all of the buzz surrounding his team:  "Anybody can go out there and say whatever they want.  They can say we're the best team in the league, they can say we’re the worst team in the league.  It doesn't really matter.  What will matter is what we do on Sundays, and that's what we have to focus on.  So what everybody thinks and says, the predictions and all that, if you look at 'em every year . . . there are just too many variables in the NFL."

The NFL has apologized to CB Ellis Hobbs for that critical pass interference flag that was thrown on him during the AFC title game.

CB Chad Scott, a candidate to start in place of holdout CB Asante Samuel, injured a leg on Friday.

WR Donte' Stallworth is on the PUP list.

RB Laurence Maroney practiced Friday in the red "no-touchy" jersey.

When he's ready for contact, Maroney will be expected to carry a big load on offense.

S Brandon Meriweather was only the second first-round holdout in the Belichick era.

WR Jabar Gaffney appears to be stepping up to the challenge at wideout.

Sixth-round RB Justise Hairston has been cut, already.

The players will wear a No. 91 decal on their helmets, in honor of the late Marquise Hill.
